ABOUT AINA YOGA

Aina moved to London in 1994 to study contemporary dance at the Laban Center and graduated with a BA (hons.) degree in dance theatre.

However, the passion for yoga quickly took over and she spent many years in London practising Ashtanga Yoga, dynamic flow, yin yoga and Jivamukti yoga. She found great inspiration in studying with teachers such as John Scott, Danny Paradise, David Swenson and Cat Alip-Le Head.

The desire to teach began to rise and Aina started a yoga teaching course with British School of Yoga in 2002. After completing the yoga teaching course in 2003, Aina started teaching classes all over London until moving back to Oslo, Norway in 2008 where she continues to teach yoga.

WHAT IS YOGA?

Yoga is an ancient Indian form that has been around for thousands of years. Yoga can be a powerful tool to retain or restructure the body to get physically fitter.

Aina has seen the discipline grow in popularity in the last four to five years as a practice that challenges and refines flexibility, strength and balance. Most importantly it works on a physical, mental and spiritual level.

For students yoga builds an awareness of their bodies, giving them the ability to find physical and spiritual connection.

Yoga builds strength by using the body's own weight. You do not need to rely on the availability of gym equipment, and secondly you slowly being to gain a deeper understanding of the body's own strength and potential.

In yoga, breathing (pranayama: science of breath/breath control) is everything. Learning to control breathing in a relaxed and modulated way provides focus which will stay with you in your day to day life.
